Key Account Manager

Job Description: Pentair currently has an opening for a technical sales professional to join our Flow Technologies business as a Key Account Manager focused on municipal clients in the Central and Western USA regions.  This person will be responsible for executing our Municipal Sales Growth Strategy in order to leverage all Pentair product technology solutions, brands, and services for optimal business performance.  This position requires strong leadership skills, high energy, and a passion to work collaboratively as part of a large team while living Pentair's Win-Right values.  This challenging role will require a high amount of customer-facing as well as very strong technical & commercial knowledge of the municipal market.   The successful candidate will provide product, application, and technical solutions support to a large sales team focusing on Municipalities and Engineering Consultants.  This person will also partner closely with the our Distribution and Sales Representative channels to influence project specifications and also drive growth for our Pump Services Group.  This position will focus on clients in the Western and Central USA regions - this person will be based out of a major metropolitan area in this region (e.g. Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; Kansas City, KS; St. Louis, MO; Chicago, IL; St. Paul, MN; Denver, CO; etc.) or from our facility in the Ashland, OH area. You will: Actively support the North America Regional Municipal Sales Growth Plan & Key Sales Objectives. Drive sales team activities and market penetration through proven selling strategies. Participate in Project selling strategies, costing analysis, and bid negotiations. Provide feedback for Innovation, Voice of the Customer VoC , and business development plans while working across business functions (such as Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing). Deliver the highest quality of customer satisfaction while demonstrating our Pentair WIN-RIGHT values. Capture market & industry trends (including competition intel and customer purchasing strategies). Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; you will also present professional publications, establish personal networks, and participate in professional societies (as approved by management). Demonstrate a Customer-First mindset by helping to make it easier for customers to do business with Pentair as well as maintaining a tenacious attitude about meeting customer commitments. Cultivate long-term, sustainable, value-based relationships within our sales team as well as with distribution & rep channel partners in order to ensure strong brand loyalty. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal departments through communication of customer needs, opportunities, and overall market conditions. Ensure regularly updated Opportunity Funnel reports using SalesForce CRM. Participate in Kaizen Events (as required) in order to improve internal/external processes and communication. Attend local & national market-focused conferences and trade shows (e.g. WEFTEC, etc.). Travel approximately 60% of the time. Be asked to take on additional responsibilities, as needed. You should: Have earned at least a Bachelor's Degree (e.g. B.A. or B.S.). Have at least 5 years of professional experience in Sales, Marketing, Project Management, and/or Engineering. We like, but don't require: Completion of technical coursework; Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field of study if a plus. Deep experience working with mechanical rotating equipment; experience working with ETO submersible pump products is a plus. Proven experience working with the Municipal and/or Infrastructure market(s); experience working with Engineering / EPC firms is a plus. Deep understanding of water and/or wastewater applications / processes. Experience working with Channel Partners (e.g. Distributors and external Sales Representatives). Experience in long cycle, contract-driven sales; experience working with major projects is a plus. Experience in price negotiation / costing as well as competitive analysis. Hands-on experience building valuable customer relationships (Internal & External). Demonstrated leadership, change management, and culture team building skills (especially with the ability to provide constructive feedback to team members to support continuous improvement and positive behavioral change). Effective internal consulting skills along with the ability to positively influence others in a desired direction to achieve identified outcomes without direct lines of authority. Have above-average proficiency in relevant software programs (e.g. MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), CRM (Salesforce.com is preferred), etc.). Demonstrated excellence with public speaking, formal presentation, and general communication skills (written & verbal). Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
